Well, if we get a bird , we do have a place to keep it! A few weeks ago as I was browsing in a thrift-collectible store I saw this beautiful Victorian bird cage....I asked the price and drooled over it. I finished paying for red and white willow dishes and took a final look at the bird cage.....a few days later I decided I'd like to have another place setting of the willow dishes and returned to the store. That bird cage just called my name.....before I left I had put that beauty on lay-away because I would need the truck to carry it home......

Now to break the news to my husband....he goes in and out the back door several times a day so I knew he would see it.....well, his birthday is April 3rd, what a perfect gift! Of course, he was thrilled beyond words......(I'm being a wee bit facetious)..... now to find a bird........

A lovely bird cage, I have not
seen anything this fancy before.
Can't wait to see your new bird
friend!
That's so beautiful and I reckon it's big enough for a parrot! New idea for hubby's birthday present?
I LOVE this!!!!! I would love to have this myself. AND the little hatted lady too.
What kind of bird are you going to get? This is just awesome.
My Show N Tell is Gone with the Wind this week!!! Hope you can stop by for a visit.
[ps...love the layout you've chosen here ---AND did you change your profile photo? That's a very nice one!!]
It is lovely. I know you'll find the right bird and I'll look forward to seeing it some day on S&T!!!

Yes, you need to find the right bird now. :) What a great find! Looks great on your porch!
Facetious AND courageous! My husband would set the bird free...and me.....if I gave him one!
Just teasing a little...but it is good to know their love language. Birds are not in his language!
How beautiful the cage is....and you are so right...you must have a bird. It is calling for a bird! Can't wait to come back in a few days and see that cage become a home!

That's really pretty! As a bird-person, I would recommend a cockatiel! We have one and he's a little lover! Although, if you get a boy bird and you are the one that fools with him the most, he will be very protective of you and jealous of your hubby. Ours is a real firecracker though! His name is Squeegy and he's actually our 17 year old son's bird but thinks that I belong to him! Hand raised are the way to go, they are very comfortable around people right from the start!

I don't blame you for having to have that bird cage. It's really beautiful!
I am a bird lover. I have 2. :) Your cage is gorgeous! And I'm sure your husband will be thrilled! :)
