86 year old's letter............

	Isn't it refreshing to read emails such as this one? 86-year old lady's letter to bank Shown below, is an actual letter that was sent to a bank by an 86 year old woman. The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in the New York Times. Dear Sir: I am writing to thank you for bouncing my check with which I endeavored to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three nanoseconds must have elapsed between his presenting the check and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honor it. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my entire pension, an arrangement which, I admit, has been in place for only eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account $30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank. My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways. I noticed that whereas I personally answer your telephone calls and letters, --- when I try to contact you, I am confronted by the impersonal, overcharging, pre-recorded, faceless entity which your bank has become. From now on, I, like you, choose only to deal with a flesh-and-blood person. My mortgage and loan repayments will therefore and hereafter no longer be automatic, but will arrive at your bank, by check, addressed personally and confidentially to an employee at your bank whom you must nominate. Be aware that it is an offense under the Postal Act for any other person to open such an envelope. Please find attached an Application Contact which I require your chosen employee to complete. I am sorry it runs to eight pages, but in order that I know as much about him or her as your bank knows about me, there is no alternative. Please note that all copies of his or her medical history must be countersigned by a Notary Public, and the mandatory details of his/her financial situation (income, debts, assets and liabilities) must be accompanied by documented proof. In due course, at MY convenience, I will issue your employee with a PIN number which he/she must quote in dealings with me. I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28 digits but, ag ain, I have modeled it on the number of button presses required of me to access my account balance on your phone bank service. As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Let me level the playing field even further. When you call me, press buttons as follows: IMMEDIATELY AFTER DIALING, PRESS THE STAR (*) BUTTON FOR ENGLISH #1. To make an appointment to see me #2. To query a missing payment. #3. To transfer the call to my living room in case I am there. #4. To transfer the call to my bedroom in case I am sleeping #5. To transfer the call to my toilet in case I am attending to nature. #6. To transfer the call to my mobile phone if I am not at home. #7. To leave a message on my computer, a password to access my computer is required. Password will be communicated to you at a later date to that Authorized Contact mentioned earlier. #8. To return to the main menu and to listen to options 1 through 7. #9. To make a general complaint or inquiry. The contact will then be put on hold, pending the attention of my automated answering service. #10. This is a second reminder to press* for English. While this may, on occasion, involve a lengthy wait, uplifting music will play for the duration of the call. Regrettably, but again following your example, I must also levy an establishment fee to cover the setting up of this new arrangement. Show and Tell Friday...................

Gosh, is it Friday already? Yes, it is....Show and Tell at Kelli's...

Well, if we get a bird , we do have a place to keep it! A few weeks ago as I was browsing in a thrift-collectible store I saw this beautiful Victorian bird cage....I asked the price and drooled over it. I finished paying for red and white willow dishes and took a final look at the bird cage.....a few days later I decided I'd like to have another place setting of the willow dishes and returned to the store. That bird cage just called my name.....before I left I had put that beauty on lay-away because I would need the truck to carry it home......Today, I brought it home....It took some maneuvering on my part to unload it and carry it around to the back porch...but as the Little Red Hen said, "I'll do it myself, and so I did".

Now to break the news to my husband....he goes in and out the back door several times a day so I knew he would see it.....well, his birthday is April 3rd, what a perfect gift! Of course, he was thrilled beyond words......(I'm being a wee bit facetious)..... now to find a bird........

Pardon the Dust...

Template under construction...my granddaughter, Erin, is working on giving my blog a new look, but she had an appointment to keep and had to stop right in the middle of changing the background wallpaper and section fonts/colors. There are still things she wants to re-do and move around. Hopefully she'll have time to finish this afternoon...so stay tuned!

Surprise Easter Gifts From Wales.......

Surprise, Surprise......Edward and I were treated with an Easter package from our dear, sweet friends, Marion and John all the way from Wales...... After hearing someone at the door, the mailman handed me a package.......
Edward and I carefully opened it......it was jam-packed with gaily wrapped gifts.....we opened all but one....Edward's birthday present which he will open April 3rd......


This sweet little bunny was tucked in the beautiful rabbit egg......

She kept saying after being released, "thank you Betty for letting me out!"

This lovely tin box with the beautiful flower contained many packages of various flower seed.......
My birds will love having this sweet bird to keep them company........
A gorgeous thimble with Tywyn and daffodil on it.......
So many seed to plant and enjoy...................

Today, I'm sharing a picture of a beautiful gift from a good friend......Jonathan......his mother is my dear, sweet friend Roselyn, better know as Rosie to her family........

Jonathan gave me this unique oriental dish because he appreciates that I do things for his mother.......being with her, learning from her is a gift.......I'm thankful to have her in my life....

Do you realize how early Easter is this year? It's
March 23! As you may know, Easter is always the 1st
Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring
Equinox (which is March 20).

This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar
that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is
why it moves around in date on our Roman based
calendar.

I found out a couple of things you might be interested
in!

Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day
earlier (March 22) but that is pretty rare. Here's the
interesting info. This year is the earliest Easter any
of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only
the most elderly of our population have ever seen it
this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us
have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

Here's the facts:

1) The next time Easter will be this early (March
23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now).

2) The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if
you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were
around for that!).

3) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22,
will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now).

4) The last time it was on March 22 was 1818.

So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any
earlier than this year!
