Gift from Marion and John and where, oh where, can their gift be?

This is a story about the received and the 'not received as of yet'.......

On the exact same day, December 14th, after having an early Christmas luncheon with cousins, we stopped by the village post office to mail Marion and John's Christmas gift to Wales...when we drove in our carport, next to the door was a package.....checking the address, I saw it was from Marion......I brought it in and placed it under the tree....of course, I wondered what delightful treasures it held but determined to wait until Christmas Day to find out.....

Finally the day arrived and so many individually, gaily wrapped gifts came into view....for Edward and elegant, gem-colored accessory carrier, a little mirrored 'sweet dreams' plaque, Lavender soap, a little teapot caddy, an exquisite necklace, a beautiful flower notepad, a CD of Welsh singers (I'm listening to it now) and an elegant tassel...(Marion, how did you know I hang them everywhere... on furniture, lamps, knobs?) all with handmade tags and a beautiful Christmas card handcrafted by Marion.......

Edward had candies, a vivid blue bird ornament (at our house he'll hang year round) a pastoral scene journal, highland shortbread made from ingredients grown on HRH Prince Charles' farm.....delicious, each one......

Now, the rest of the story.......Marion and John have yet to receive their package......I feel so badly......I won't say what's in it..hopefully it will get there.....maybe it will be a Valentine's Day gift or Marion's birthday is in February........

If by chance, you see a rectangle package, wrapped in brown paper ,with red writing, embellished with green holly leaves and red berries, please leave me a comment. I'm hoping it didn't get on a slow boat to China by mistake.............

Post Script:

On Friday, January 25th, Marion and I were emailing back and forth and in the middle of one she was sending...the postman delivered a parcel to her home....THE LOST PACKAGE HAD FOUND ITS WAY TO ITS DESTINATION.....YAAAHHH......

Living what we profess.........

Some emails are so worthy of passing on and I think this one of those..........

>> His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with
>> holes in it, jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for
>> his entire four years of college.
>> He is brilliant. Kind of profound and very, very bright. He
>> became a Christian while attending college.
>> Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very
>> conservative church. They want to develop a ministry to the students but
>> are not sure how to go about it.
>> One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes,
>> jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and
>> so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.
>> The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By
>> now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says
>> anything.
>> Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and
>> when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the
>> carpet.
>> By now the people are really uptight, and the te nsion in the
>> air is thick.
>> About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the
>> back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.
>> Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a
>> three-piece suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very
>> courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy,
>> everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's
>> going to do.
>> How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to
>> understand some college kid on the floor?
>> It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.
>> The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the
>> man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone
>> breathing.
>> Th e minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he
>> has to do.
>> And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor.
>> With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and
>> worships
>> with him so he won't be alone.
>> Everyone chokes up with emotion. When the minister gains
>> control, he says "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember.
>> What you have just seen, you will never forget."
>> "Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some
>> people will ever read!"
>> I asked the Lord to bless you
>> as I prayed for you today.
>> To guide you and protect you
>> as you go along your way....
>> His love is always with you,
>> His promises are true,
>> And when we give Him all our cares,

>> God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
>> You shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You
>> need to be able to throw something back.

Rescue of the Whale.......

This is an email that I received recently.............

The Whale
If you read the front page story of the SF Chronicle,

you would have read about a female humpback whale

who had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps

and lines.

She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused

her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of

line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a line

tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the FarraloneIslands

(outside the Golden Gate) and radioed an environmental group for help.

Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was

so bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her.

One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.

When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles.

She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them,

pushed gently around-she thanked them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was

following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

May you, and all those you love,

be so blessed and fortunate ...

to be surrounded by people

who will help you get untangled

from the things that are binding you.

And, may you always know the joy

of giving and receiving gratitude.

A Gift From the Side of the Road......Annie

This was written a few weeks ago but just tonight I decided to post it.....

About a month ago, my husband was going to our little village when a little blonde furball ran out in front of him.....another vehicle dodged it. My husband went back and picked it up...a little female. She was wet, hungry and scared. We had not had a dog since Bandit, our 11 year old Shitzu, passed away some 12 years ago.

We decided on the name Annie, since she was an orphan....that seemed appropriate. She was carried to the vet......she had a myriad of health problems.....he mentioned putting her to sleep but my husband wasn't ready to do that. We, and especially Edward, are going to great lengths to nurse Annie into good health.....she is happy......and she brings lots of joy to us and to our six grandchildren next door..........

Annie had some good days and many that were not so good.....she seemed to be happy.....sadly when we had had her about a month she began going backward in health again. She passed away and was buried in our pet cemetery. Although we had Annie just a short while, she will live in our memories forever.....farewell sweet Annie........

Sweet little Annie girl............

My husband said Annie had 'teddy bear eyes'.......

Baby, it's cold outside.........

The last three nights we have had extremely cold temperatures...... My husband placed a water hose up in a tree.......

This morning we had lots of icicles........
We decorate Christmas trees with man-made icicles but they don't compare with these.......Is it cold at your house?

The weather forecast for the weekend is in the 70's...............I think that's why we have so many one day, freezing the next.......what do you think?

Why did the chicken cross the road.......a little humor......

This is an email I thought you would enjoy........

Why did the chicken cross the road?

The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on THIS side of the road before it goes after the problem on the OTHER SIDE of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his CURRENT problems before adding NEW problems.

Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so badly. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.

We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road...

We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.

Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.

That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.

To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

To die in the rain. Alone.

In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road.

Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C% ........ reboot.

Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

I invented the chicken!

Did I miss one?

Where's my gun?

Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.
