Show and Tell..................................

Well, I didn't make the Friday deadline due to being at our grandson's graduation, but I still want to participate in Kelli's, Show and Tell.

I bought these blue and white dishes many years ago when we went to the Little Grand Cayon in Lumpkin, Georgia, one of Georgia's tourist sights....The pattern is 'Elizabeth' by Johnson Brothers, England.

At the time I bought the dishes, I had no grandchildren, not even any sons-by-love but I liked the dishes. Now, I have a twin granddaughter who will be 16 next month.....her name is Elisabeth, spelled as it is in the Bible.......someday they will belong to her.

Lucky Elisabeth! The dishes are beautiful.
I've been to the Little Grand Canyon. I'd like to go back again someday.

Beautiful dishes. I have an Elisabeth as well, but I gave her the "z" instead of the "s"

Oh Betty, these dishes are gorgeous! I'm glad that you have Elisabeth to pass them on to...my mom has tons of beautiful dishes that will go to me but I told her I'd rather have her around for a long time yet:-) xox

Hi Betty
Thanks for stopping by my blog. You're always welcome.

I thought I'd drop by yours for a visit and I really enjoyed myself.

I love your dishes. I grew up in Columbus, GA and went often to the Little Grand Canyon. I haven't thought of it in years though.

I can't believe it ~ lol! My husband and I hiked all the way to the bottom of the Little Grand Canyon in Lumpkin Georgia 24 years ago this summer! I even have a picture of me sitting on the side of the trail (which was more vertical than horizontal) because I didn't think my family would believe me when I told them about it. (It's crazy the things our sweeties can talk us into, isn't it!) We had driven up to Georgia with his family to visit his sister and her husband before my darling left for an 18 months USAF tour of duty in the Philippines. Bittersweet times! I hadn't thought of that in years!!

Now about your china ~ (*sheepish grin*) ~

Isn't it amazing how God orders our steps in the littlest of things. How very precious that your granddaughter will have this china with her very name on it! It is a beautiful pattern!

I'm so glad you went ahead with your show & tell. :o)

Oh I love the dishes. My show and tell was about dishes as well.

Now how have I lived here all my life in GA and never heard of the Little Grand Canyon in Lumpkin Georgia? This is something I must look into.

Have a blessed week.
