The Rest of the Story......as Paul Harvey would say.....

A couple of days ago I posted eight random facts about me.....number five was that I had been in an attempted bank robbery.....This morning, Amy (daughter, Picketfence Mom) called and laughingly said, "you might need to clarify that you were a victim and not the robber!" Please let me hasten to assure you I was the victim......

Several years ago I was a teller in our community branch bank in a rural area....sometimes when business was slow, we watched the traffic, etc....one Thursday afternoon, another teller and I observed a car circle our bank several times. Finally, a young man came in and asked me for coin rollers....he was really looking us over. The next day the same car drove by several times. We closed the lobby on Fridays from two until four then re-opened at six. (Before I began working at the bank, I thought the employees went home at two and came back at four...duh). At two o'clock the car drove up and parked.....The two men had black skull caps on. I ran and locked the door. In the meantime, Sherry had called her Dad who was near by. He drove up and stopped in front of the bank as the men were approaching. He reached over into the back seat and they ran to their car and sped off. When they were apprehended they had a gun. They were already convicted felons. When the detective came, he said we were fortunate that they had not gotten into the bank, that they were amateurs and if rattled, would have shot Sherry and me. God is good indeed......

Going to the police station and identifying them was not pleasant.......even the pictures were scary.........

Thank goodness it was only an attempted bank robbery! Sherry's dad was very brave. Thank God for His protection.
Your music is very pretty.

My cousin is a teller in a bank and she was involved in a robbery once, though the robbers did get in and they did get money. They were also amateurs and did get caught. No one was injured.

I'm thankful that you and Sherry were able to lock the door before the men got into the bank. God alerted you to the coming predicament. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Mary
