A Gift From the Side of the Road......Annie

This was written a few weeks ago but just tonight I decided to post it.....

About a month ago, my husband was going to our little village when a little blonde furball ran out in front of him.....another vehicle dodged it. My husband went back and picked it up...a little female. She was wet, hungry and scared. We had not had a dog since Bandit, our 11 year old Shitzu, passed away some 12 years ago.

We decided on the name Annie, since she was an orphan....that seemed appropriate. She was carried to the vet......she had a myriad of health problems.....he mentioned putting her to sleep but my husband wasn't ready to do that. We, and especially Edward, are going to great lengths to nurse Annie into good health.....she is happy......and she brings lots of joy to us and to our six grandchildren next door..........

Annie had some good days and many that were not so good.....she seemed to be happy.....sadly when we had had her about a month she began going backward in health again. She passed away and was buried in our pet cemetery. Although we had Annie just a short while, she will live in our memories forever.....farewell sweet Annie........

Sweet little Annie girl............

My husband said Annie had 'teddy bear eyes'.......

Dear Betty, well, I know without doubt, she had some great last days. God bless you both.

I wanted to stop by and thank you for praying for our family in the loss of our sister. God is so good to us to send people like yourself to let us know that you are praying. Thanks again so much. We pray you have a very happy New Year. connie from Texas

Oh, Betty, how sad! Annie was just adorable. I love the name you gave her! Our, Westie, Dody died last July, we still miss him so much. I know how you are feeling with your loss, it's almost the same pain as a loss of a human member of the family.

I think we have a lot in common with decor, etc. I never tire of my Old Country Roses china!

Oh my, (little orphan) Annie was such a precious sweet adorable wee thing. I can only imagine the joy she brought to you and yours - and the joy you all brought to her. Though her time with you was short, it was well lived and worthwhile. Bless you dearly.

Betty, I am so sorry about Annie. She is so sweet; my dog died a couple of years ago and there is still a little empty place in my heart for her. I'm glad Annie's final days were with a loving family.

How sad little Annie didn't make it, it was not to be. But how wonderful to know that during the last part of her life she knew love and what it is to be a much beloved and pampered little puppy.

Goodbye little Annie with your sweet teddybear eyes!

BTW I've linked with you, I hope that's OK.

How sweet she is Betty, Almost like a toy dog. Must have been hard when she died. How wonderful she had your family to care for her in her last days though,

How tragic that that beautiful little puppy was so ill and passed away. Still, even though her passing has made you sad, I'm sure you are still glad to have known and loved her for even that short time.

Thank you, Betty, for visiting my blog. Marion told me all about you - what close friends you have become and how much she is looking forward to visiting you. I know what she means about the closeness of blog friendships.

Betty..... Dear little Annie.... what a short life she had, but towards the end of it she was truly blessed, to be embraced into your family and receive such loving care from you and Edward who did all you could to nurse her back to good health.
Such an adorable little darling. The one picture of her she looks like a baby poplar bear, then I look at her in another and she reminds me of a little lamb. She’s left behind some precious memories. Marion

I'm so sorry for the lost of Annie. Your wonderful music didn't help but to bring tears to my eyes while reading her story. Kudos to your hubby for taking her in and keeping strong for her even though she had health problems. What a gem she was.
