Dreams Do Come True.........

Many months ago, I ran across a lady's blog from Wales....I was very new to reading blogs, I certainly didn't have one at the time.....I read her blog for several weeks before I had the nerve to leave a comment. A few weeks later I emailed her to tell her how much I enjoyed reading about her life in Wales and looking at pictures of her beautiful garden......

To my delightful surprise, the next morning I had a reply....to say I was thrilled is an understatement......thus began my friendship with Marion.....we are the same age, share our faith in Jesus, love our families, mutual gardening interests, enjoy our homes, among many other likes......

We often wrote how wonderful it would be to meet face to face....I have never flown and doubt that I ever will unless a dire emergency arises.....Marion is a retired travel agent and she and John are seasoned travelers.....Edward and I issued an invitation to come for a visit....and they graciously accepted. Six months ago we set a date ......and now the time is at hand.

On May 18th, we will meet them at the Atlanta airport....finally we will see them, Lord willing, and can actually embrace them....friend to friend.

They will be here for 12 days and we plan to travel some around our state and perhaps neighboring states......our church congregation is planning a 'southern church dinner' on the Sunday they will attend services with us. Our children and grandchildren are planning a special event in their honor......

So, dream dreams....sometimes they actually do come true....mine did......meeting someone from another side of the globe with like interests.....God is indeed very good......

I won't be posting until the first of June probably unless Marion and I have time between visiting......and talking........and talking..........and talking...........

Hi Betty! My guests are now gone and our home is very quiet. We enjoyed the month even though I am very tired now. I must say it was very emotional to say goodbye to my mother this trip. I am now trying to stop in to visit many of my blogging friends that I have so missed. How fun then to read that you are also now having a fun get together with an overseas blogging friend. I am sure you will find that you really know each other and will have great fun actually spending time together. I look forward to hearing about when you return.

Hugs ~
Heidi

Oh Betty, what wonderful news. Isn't the internet just wonderful? My husband and children do not understand and do not like for me to talk to anyone online as they are afraid for me simply because they don't understand. Anyone who doesn't use the avenue to make new friends just doesn't understand. And to be able to actually meet these online friends is so amazing. I am so glad that you and Marion will finally get to meet.

How wonderful Betty that you will finally be able to meet. I hope you all have a wonderful time! Aren't you glad you had the nerve then to leave Marion a comment? Friendship may sometimes be found in very unexpected places.

Oh, Betty, I'm so happy for you! I met a woman from South Africa online 12 years ago and we have written daily ever since. We share age, family similarities, and faith. My online friendship is treasured. She plans a trip to visit me in the states within the next two years and I can't wait. Enjoy every minute of your visit with your special friend - and do plan to go to Wales next! God bless...Kathy

Ywo days into Marion's visit now so I guess you will be becoming well aquainted. Can just imagine her in that sweet little guest house of yours.
Now I am waiting for your return visit. More dreams that you could ever imagined come true when living a life of faith.

Oh Betty,
Your story gives me goosebumps as the Lord has given me so many wonderful friends thru the internet. My most favorite is finally meeting Anna and Bill from California and our friendship has continued thru the years only to grow stronger and stronger the time.
Hugs to you and YES, DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!!
