One of the gifts Marion brought was this beautiful snow-white drying cloth....it is a work of art....a perfect cloth for the tea cart...different teas, Peach, Heavenly, etc....were served.
Erin, Amy and Elisabeth............
The excitement began building as the first guests entered the back yard.....everyone had looked forward with great anticipation to meeting Marion.....many had read her blog and felt as I had that they knew her........earlier in the week, two friends were discussing the tea party and the English honoree....one asked the other if she would be attending.....to which she replied, " Yes, that's the closet to royalty I'll ever be!"
One guest, Pam, had relatives who came from Wales...she brought along a genealogical book. She and Marion had quite a discussion about Wales..... Cousin Mary Jo 'knew' Marion and John from conversations with Edward and me......
Several young ladies accompanied their mothers....they were in their Sunday best and on their best behavior........
Before the tea came to an end, John was summoned from inside, where he Edward and Bobby, a cousin, were engaged in 'man talk'........all the ladies wanted to meet John........
Much to soon, the evening came to an end and the guests departed......many memories and friendships were made........
Our granddaughter, Erin, kindly shared her slide show............

Looks like quite a spread in honor of Marion and John. I'm sure they were glad they visited you as they definitely were treated like royalty.
What a great representation of southern hospitality! It was so nice to visit your blog and I appreciate very much your visit to mine! How very nice of Marion to tell you about me and about my post to her blog. I am not sure where your cabin is, but it sounds like it is very close to my "neck" of the woods! LOL! I tried to email you back, but your blog is not tied to an email address. I have enjoyed my visit here! Will return soon!

Hello Betty,
I've just been over visiting Marion, and enjoying her descriptive writings and photos of their wonderful vacation with you and Edward. And now I've enjoyed reading and seeing the pictures from your point of view. What a wonderful Tea this looks ot have been. Your lovely daughter and granddaughters did such a marvelous job putting it all together. I Loved seeing Erin's slideshow, particularly the photos of the little girls. How adorable they are!
I'm so glad to hear that Edward is doing better and slowly regaining his health. I'm sure it's been an extremely difficult time for you both, and all the family.
Prayer is a wonderful privilege and tool, isn't it?
