What A Past Few Days!

We make plans and so quickly everything changes...Saturday morning I went for a hair trim and planned to return and get busy house cleaning, ironing and packing for a trip that we were to leave on Sunday afternoon for Vincennes, Indiana...

When I returned home Edward was sitting in his recliner in the den...I asked, "are you sick?...he replied,"I think I had a heart attack but I feel fine now." Awhile later he decided we needed to go to the ER. He was monitored and admitted late that afternoon. On Monday he had a Nuclear Stress Test and Tuesday he had a heart catherization and 5 stents. He spent the night in ICU and we came home today....He had never had a heart problem..

We are so thankful that we were not enroute or even at our destination when this happened. Edward has had two very serious surgeries and our hospital has all his records and our surgeons are familiar with all his problems...

Our church family, friends and family rallied around us and surrounded us with love, prayers, food and everything we needed...God is so good...an ever present help in time of trouble.

We covet your prayers, too.....

Oh, Betty, I am so sorry about that! What do you mean, he had never had a heart problem, when he had 5 stints?! Bless his heart. I am glad you were not on a trip too. I think he needs to take it easy. Praying for you two. I know that really scared you. Your church family is wonderful.
Love and Hugs,
Cathy

Hi Betty,
I am so glad Edward is okay! I think it must be something wrong with the RECLINERS! LOL My dad was sitting in his when he had his heart attack too!!!
He was in ICU three days, but his happened about 11 pm at night and by around 3:30 am they had three stents in him and back in ICU! Amazing how this modern medicine works. A nurse told us that 30 years ago he would have been in the hospital for three weeks instead of three days. God is good....ALL the time!!
Blessings and prayers~

PS ...my dad never had any heart problems prior to this heart attack either.
Prayers going up for your family!

Hi Betty,
So sorry to hear about Edward, but God is so gracious, to have you at home near family and friends when this happened. I hope you are doing well too, as I know how scary this can be when something happens to our loved one.

I will pray for you both and your family as he recuperates
. Blessings,
Sue

Betty: I am so sorry this happened, but so glad that you were home when it did. I hope Edward continues to improve and feel much, much better!!

It is a small world that you are familiar with the Akins and Akins Furniture! I LOVE that place and have bought many things there!

The girl that waited on us was young (in her 20's) and precious! she was out in the heat (cos' it ws hot, hot) and she was just as cheerful and sweet as she could be!

I will keep both you and Edward in my prayers!

Lou Cinda :)

Was glad to see this post Betty. You've been in my thoughts. Thanks for passing on the story of the lunch for the soldiers. It was very inspiring.

Oops, the comment I just made should have gone on your next post, where Edward is feeling better! Sorry I clicked in the wrong section. I was just seeing if I had missed something in-between.

Betty, I so love your spirit - finding blessing in adverse circumstances.
Your Edward sounds like such a serene, calm man. I think if I thought I was having a heart attack, I would be a raving maniac and make things worse:-)
