I am so ready for SPRINGTIME! It has been a long, cold, windy winter and I yearn for warmer weather, don't you?
Today is a beautiful, warm day...my two youngest grandsons, John, age 7 and Alexander, age almost five, and I picked up limbs and debris from around the yard. Then we had lemonade. Alexander wanted a slice of lemon on the edge of the glass...he's seen this in pictures. We discussed tatooes, handsome snakes, Loch Ness Monster, beer and other interesting subjects that tiptoe across young grandson's minds....our favorite memories of our family beach trips together.
These are a few pictures of flowers that I look forward to seeing bloom again in the not too far distant future:

i have to say that the Blackwatch Hollyhock is a stunner!! I love Hollyhock's too but because of their height have a difficult time finding the right place for them in my garden.
Glad you got to spend some time with your grandchildren. My Sam just turned 9 and he asks the strangest things - funny things- things that make you laugh out loud. It is a wonderful age- they pick up so much and are starting to grow up now.
After this post l will dream of Spring tonight- of what seeds l'd like use this year and so on.
Keep well and smiling Betty.
Cheerio for the now :)
ps- if the lads wish- l'll put in a word for them with Nessie.
Hello Dear Friend Betty....
I have so much enjoyed a visit to your garden. Yes, I too am ready for spring and long to see colour out there. I like the walk way to your back yard, is that something new, I don’t recall seeing it when we were there. Your beautiful day lily was an instant reminder of that glorious afternoon we spent at Tim Bell’s Day Lily Gardens. The Blackwatch Hollyhock is a beauty, I must look out for that variety.... and of course the New Dawn rose must be everyone’s favourite.
What precious times you are privileged to spend with your grandchildren.... such lovely children.
The weather here has been good this weekend, unfortunately both John and I have not felt well enough to get out and enjoy it. John’s flu is slow to release its grip and my cold hangs on, it always turns to sinus. I will write more news soon.... just haven’t felt like sitting at the computer for a few days. Our love as always - Marion
There is nothing better than spending time with young grandchildren. They say whatever is on their minds. I love it.
Your flowers remind me that Spring is coming - maybe later than sooner though.
