FRESH PINEAPPLE....and a new gadget......

I am linking up to 'Your Cozy Home Party' hosted every Tuesday by Shannon at Cozy Home Scenes. Check out her blog for more great 'cozy home' posts!

Nothing is better in the dead of winter than fresh pineapple...

My husband rooted tops of other pineapples by placing the tops in soil....

A new gaget, at least to me, is a pretty red pineapple corer...very easy to use....perfect slices every time....

        Bon Appetit!

Edited to add:  During the winter the plants are moved into the green house.

Those pineapple corers work great. I've never seen a red one though.

That's it? Just put the tops in the soil? Or do you root them in water first, then plant? I want to learn to do this! I love pineapple!

I came here from Grammy Goodwill's blog. I enjoyed seeing your husband's pineapple plant because my Mom used to do the same thing. She was always amazed that they would grow. They were used as an indoor plant and of course never had fruit but was fun to grow. That is a pretty red corer and probably works well. I would like to invite you to show the pineapple plant at my Your Cozy Home Party anytime from now until Thurs. night. That would be interesting for lots of people to see. Grammy's post was the most viewed on the party last week. Would love to have you if you can come.----------Shannon

Sweet Sista' Betty... What a wonderful surprise your 'phone call was yesterday afternoon, I did so enjoy our chat.

I'm impressed with Edward's rooted pineapple tops... and they really grow fruit? I know those cute little cutters do a great job in producing perfect slices. I bought one some time ago, but I've never seen them in red. I've just started to introduce the colour red in my kitchen... red gingham valances for the windows and the same fabric to cover loose cushions for the white basket chair. I'm liking the effect. I'll have to send you pictures.

Have a blessed day Miss Betty. Hope your weather isn't as bad as they'd forecast... here in Wales it is raining extremely heavy!
Bestest Love - Marion

I was so pleased when I saw that you had added the pineapple plant to the party. I bet there will be lots of people saving their pineapple tops to try this. I also thank you for the nice mention of my party at the top of your post. I sure hope you can come next week, too.--- Shannon
