New Bicycles And It Isn't Even Christmas.......

Today is Friday and it's Show and Tell over at Kelli's..........

The other day my husband made his usual trip to town and when he came home he had a surprise.......two spanking new bicycles.......mine is blue and Edward's is black. They are the old fashion variety.....wide tires, white walls, chrome fenders......not a sign of brakes on the handle bars, no gears........just brakes on the pedals........my kind of bike.

Our three year old grandson, John, asked, "Mam, do you have a honker?" We both have honkers(horns), just haven't gotten them put on yet......and I'm looking for a pretty wicker basket...but a metal one will do.........

When Edward and I were dating, we had a picture made riding bicycles. I tried to find the picture but to no avail.......maybe I'll run across it sometime........

I like your new bike! I have an old-fashioned one like that too! I don't have to worry about anybody stealing it! Ha-ha! I need to get mine out and ride it, but it's still a little too hot here in FL!

I'm glad you have a honker for your bike! That statement was so cute!

Great bikes! That is on my wish list. You look like a natural on your bike. The wicker basket would be too cute!

Oh this is just so awesome!! I would love to join you both in a jaunt in the countryside with a bicycle...but wait---you both look like you're wanting to enjoy the ride all by yourself and don't want me butting in!! This is a grand thing to have a hubby by for the two of you.

Mine this week, isn't much but something I captured in the sky one morning, early this week. And wanted to share with the Show n Tell.

What a nice surprise from Edward and ya'll look great riding them! It would be fun to see the old picture if you can find it.
I just sold one bike because I didn't have a safe place to ride. I left another one at Tina's. If you've never ridden on Jekyll Island it's nice at a cooler time of the year.

What a great surprise! I bought a new bike for myself this past spring, but unfortunately I haven't gotten to ride it much. Maybe this fall, when I'm not so busy with flowers, gardens and such!

Wow Betty this is fun. Makes me miss our bikes that I sold earlier this year even though they were virtually new. Don't know if you read that post or not. In a nutshell, having enjoyed riding our friends bikes in rural France we came back all enthusiastic. We did not take in to account the traffic in our London area though and also my husbands two lots of double hernia exaserbated through lifting bikes onto roof of car in order to go somewhere quieter.

You look more at ease that Edward I have to say. Enjoy, I am jealous that you have such a quiet area to ride in .

How neat!! I prefer the old-fashioned kind as well. It would be fun to post the old picture alongside the new one some day when you find it.

I love them!!! They sell those wicker baskets for the front, so keep looking!!!! Around here the hills are so high, that I can't (read won't try) ride my bike. Walking up them is a chore!!! I loved the pictures!!!!

What FUN!! Mr. U and I have talked about buying bicycles, but all the roads near us are SO busy and there are no sidewalks.

I know y'all will enjoy lots of time together bicycling!

That is a nice looking couple riding those bicycles. Congratulations on your new bike.
We have something in common. No, I do not ride a bicycle. I am married to a preacher also. He has been pastoring the church we are at for almost 14 years.

Lovely bikes. I've been toying with the idea of getting one so that I have some means of transport...then I think about the winter coming and wonder if I'd be better off on foot or on a bus! :o)

I love your new bikes! You and your hubby look so cute riding them together. I haven't ridden a bike in years. Makes me wanna try... =o)

I love your new bikes. I am afraid to ride a bicycle on the road, my uncle was killed on one so the fear of the two wheeled fun was drilled into my head as a child. But its so much fun !

You look very cute on that new bike. Great exercise. I think the wicker basket would be just the perfect decoration for your bike--It might need a flower or two on it!

When Helen Mirren was invited to tea at the Palace the Queen had apparently not up until that point watched the film. I guess she will have done by now. I think she would have been amused.
She does have a very strong sense of humour.
