The Lord comes to our aid.........not once but twice in three days......

I believe that angels are sent to aid us in times of distress....the Bible cites examples...the Apostle Paul said that angels stood by his side through the night.....many other times angels are mentioned helping.......

A few days ago, my husband, Edward, was in town running errands and the van shut off in several lanes of traffic. He couldn't activate the hazard lights...he didn't dare try to get out because of traffic zipping by. Across the street, a tire and battery store was located, two men saw what was happening and came running to his aid....they pushed the van to the side, stopping traffic as they went......it was determined a new battery was needed even though the one in the van was installed in March. The facts: the van stopped in front of the store where the existing battery was purchased, two employees saw the dilema and acted.........installed a new battery at no charge.

Early today, Edward and I had appointments at a hospital in a neighboring town. He, for blood work, me for a bone density test. Afterwards, we stopped by McDonald's for coffee. He started the van and we made it a few feet to the exit drive when the van died. Same situation as earlier in the week. We looked at each other believing it couldn't be happening again.

Here we were blocking the exit....Edward wondering who should we call. I remembered we had joined Triple A road service a few weeks earlier.....it takes a few minutes to locate the card and call....the lady had many questions...meanwhile, dirty looks were coming our way. Finally, she said she would send a tow truck......

No one had offered to help......then a car stopped and two men, badly unkempt in appearance, asked if we had a problem. I would have been afraid had I met them on the street. Edward asked if they could help push the van back into a parking place. They immediately got out and easily manueverd the van back into the parking space......the entire time we were at McDonald's they were the only ones to stop and offer help..........Lord, help me not to judge a book by its cover........nor people by their outward appearance.......

We were so appreciative and quickly gave them each money......so, for the moment, we were at least safe. Shortly, a tow truck arrived and the driver and Edward determined it was the alternator. They thought, after jumping the battery off, that we might be able to drive across town to the garage. He followed and off we went. A few blocks later, we had to towed.

This was a new experience for us and for Wendy, the Windstar. Neither of us had ever ridden in a tow truck......the guy called ahead and made sure the air was on in the office. We were told we could wait in the office where there was seating and a TV.

Why I ever doubt that God is in control of every situation and has whatever is needed at His fingertips is beyond me. I know without a doubt several times He has sent angels in the form human beings to help me. I believe angels come in all colors, sizes and appearances........have you had an angel experience?

Hello dear blogging friends! Edward and I have been away for several days.......even though I'm exhausted I want to post our beach trip with Marion and John....our dear guests from Wales who honored us with a visit in May........

My sweet granddaughter, Erin, has so thoughtfully honored me by giving me an award......Brilliante Weblog....thank you sweet girl.......I'm thinking to whom I want to pass it along.................. hummmm.......

For anyone new to my blog: Our friends, Marion and John, from Wales visited us for 12 days in May. Marion and I are blogging about our time together....each from our perspective....
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
After leaving Savannah, we drove down to Amelia Island, Florida...this is where Edward and I went on our honeymoon 48 years ago and continue to go each summer. We, our girls and their families, go for a week in the summer and have a wonderful time.....
As we crossed the Florida state line Edward commented, "we're in Florida now." Marion hadn't realized we were going to Florida and exclaimed, "John, can you believe we're in Florida!"
The condominium that we stay in.......
The view across the street......recently Marion and I 'met' Pamela who stays down the street.....
John and Edward on the balcony.....Yes, Wales is on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.......
Resting before deciding where to eat......
A beautiful sunrise for a new day.................
Not shown with these signs, but sunami signs are posted also. Something in years past we knew nothing about.........
"Hey, everybody".........
Marion cooling her feet......................
"Come on, Marion, John and Edward".... Yes, Marion, as the sign says, "keep coming back!"
There are benches all over the beach and island with names and sayings.............................
Of course, we had to shop.............
"This is a comfortable chair John, will it fit in our luggage?"
Edward would probably agree with this some days......'.I only have a kitchen because it came with the house'.......
All too soon it was time to pack up and head home..........thank you Janis and Oscar...........................
Explanation .........
I want to apologize for the mistakes, repeat picture and all the incorrect grammar....I spent about 3 hours downloading pictures and working on this post. I hit preview and then edit to correct errors.....to my horror the post would flip on for a second and then off. No way could I get it to stay on long enough to edit. Finally in desperation I decided to press publish and to my amazement it published.....so here it is....mistakes and all. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
We meet fellow blogger Sandy....Lunch at Paula Deen's Lady and Sons Restaurant....
It's now early Tuesday morning....we leave for Savannah and we are so excited that we are going to meet another blogger Sandy....Marion, so far, has met bloggers...Betty, Amy, Erin, Elisabeth, Beth and now another one.....Sandy.
Sandy and I have made arrangements by phone where to meet....after we check into our accomodations, we head to
the restaurant....Sweet Potatoes. As we enter the restaurant, we look around and see a lady heading toward us. We recognized Sandy immediately from her picture.
Finally after hurried introductions and the waitress coming by a couple of times we take time to order......
Edward, John and Mike
Marion making pictures as we all make memories.....all good things eventually come to an end and we had to bid our new friends farewell......it has been a dream come true to meet people that you feel you know but have never met face to face....
After a restful night, we are up early the next morning and after breakfast we head downtown to Lady and Sons Restaurant.....
Edward drops us out in front of the restaurant to sign
in for lunch. From previous experiene we know you must be there early for the 12:00 meal........
No, that isn't a picture of the four of us...it is a reflection from across the street............instructions are to stand on the opposite sidewalk to hear your party called.......so we might as well shopwhile we wait....so into the jewelry shop we go....Marion purchases a 'twirling' ring and I get blue crystal earrings.....
Edward and standing under the restaurant sign......
Marion and John........ A picture of the young lady and young man that come out with a dinner gong and she in a very loud voice hollers,"HOWDY...ARE YOU HUNGRY?"........Everyone shouts, "YES!"
Finally, we are seated....joining us, our niece, Linda, and her husband, Charlie, from Hilton Head......after introductions we head to the buffet......many choices of southern dishes to sample....
I asked our server if Paula and the boys were in the restaurant and was told they had been in another state finalizing a deal and had arrived home the night before. I had met Bobby and Jaimie on another visit.....
Edward, Linda, John.....Charlie, Me and Marion.......Below some of the trompe l'oeil on the extremely high walls....
The wrought iron door going into the gift shop....skillets and fancy scroll work......
Marion, Linda and I enjoy shopping in the gift shop.......You can only eat so much and believe you me....we did our fair share......after bidding farewell to Linda and Charlie we moved on.................
Down to the River Front........Just in case you've noticed that Marion and I have changed clothes, let me hasten to add we actually were down on the River Front and Forsyth Park on Tuesday afternoon.......it's just too much trouble to redo all the pictures.......
No, we didn't have time for the River Boat........
Hello John.............
Resting briefly.....we had an ice cream in one of these shops......
Which direction should we go? Right or left?
We wanted Marion and John to see Forsyth Park....the fountain is absolutely beautiful.....I know the ones in Europe probably dwarf these but in coastal Georgia this one is outstanding.......
Marion and John................
Edward and Betty......
We met a very interesting gentleman making palm roses and crosses.....he was very knowledgeable of the Bible and as he made his crafts, he shared his testimony.......He has a ministry as he meets people in the park....He is very personable and you automatically are drawn to what he's saying.....yes, Marion and I each have a cross and rose.....Marion, where is yours? Mine is hanging on the sunporch......that will be a Show and Tell one Friday over at Kelli's.......
There were so many more places we wanted to share...such as Tybee Island, Bonaventure Cemetery, the beautiful and historic churches, other parks, locations of movies, etc., but our time was so limited......
We left headed to Amelia Island, Florida........that's for next time.......
Marion Attends Red Hatter's luncheon.........
One of the things I wanted to do while Marion was visiting was to have a Red Hatter's meeting......we had talked about this many times.....as it so happened, May was the month that a friend, Barbara, and I were responsible for choosing the restaurant...........
We decided on a recently refurbished restaurant in another town............
Since it was Memorial Day, many members had other plans but we were very pleased with our accomodations.........our handsome waiter, John........
Barbara and Marion.......
Our choice of German Chocolate Cake...........
or 13 layer Caramel Cake.......Looking down into the enclosed courtyard from the upstairs balcony.........
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later, that afternoon, we visited a dear gentleman's working farm to show Marion and John farm life in the south.....he toured peanut fields, corn fields, etc., with us....showing us farm machinery to harvest the crops in the fall..... a naturalist who enjoys sharing his knowledge, he carried us to an abandoned house that a female buzzard returns to each year to lay her eggs....the tiny newborn babies are white......I made a picture but have not been able to locate it.......He has garden seed that has been in his family for over 100 years.....a truly educational experience.......
The next morning, Tuesday, we leave for Savannah, Georgia.....we meet another blogging buddy, Sandy....... eat with Paula Deen.......yum, yum.......
