Show and Tell over at Kelli's.........

Today is Show and Tell over at Kelli's blog....please do drop by and see many interesting presentations......

Today, I'm showing two very welcomed gifts.....feathers......
First, peacock feathers....friends, Phyllis and Joseph, raise peacocks and shared these beautiful feathers.....

I like to use peacock feathers in the top of the pencil Christmas tree in the den along with glass bird ornaments.....
I like pheasant feathers but they are sooo expensive...just one can be as much as $13.95......we have a friend, Ralph, who goes out west pheasant hunting.....
As we were talking one day I asked his wife, Carol, if he ever brought the feathers home......"yes", said she.
"If ever he has any extra, I'd certainly like to have some." Several weeks later I had a call that he had brought a box of feathers home......by the time several other people decided they would like to have some also, the box finally made it to me.....

I plan to use mine this Christmas accentuating wreaths, trees, etc.....

These were two of my favorite gifts......feathers..........

Betty,

The feathers are beautiful. I love peacock and pheasant feathers but yes, they are expensive. I'm so glad you could get these to use in your home decor.

Thank you for your kind and loving comments on Aunt May. I will be posting later today when I come back from the hospital. Your kindness, love and support are greatly appreciated.

Blessings,
Mary

These should be great for decor! Have you ever seen those paintings people do on feathers? I don't know how they do that. What a blessing you could find some from your generous friends.

Hi Betty,

We actually did visit Madison, GA several years ago. We had fun antiquing. I bought 2 opalescent celery vases, a oak chest and a chintz stool. Beautiful town.

Hi Betty! Love these feathers! I collect feathers we find at Cranberry Cottage. For years, I have been searching flea markets for a tiny glass vase to place them in. They are waiting in a glass that is just too large for them. I have seen these feathers before but now know they are from pheasants. They are so beautiful!

Dear Friend Betty.... What a brilliant idea......... it had never crossed my mind to include feathers in with Christmas decorations. You have a fine collection there and I know, with your artistic flair, you’ll make a spectacular display with them..... please do take pictures, I’d love to see them. I once had quite a few peacock feathers.... whatever happened to them, I really can’t remember. I’m amazed at the price of pheasant feathers..... we often see them lying on the side of the road after being hit by a vehicle...... I’ll have to stop next time and pick one up if its not in too bad a shape.

I always study your pictures searching for something that is familiar to me...... In the first picture I was soon to spot the lovely red brick floor you painted.... such precious reminders. Have a great day. Marion
