A Look At What's Going On At Our House......

As I mentioned earlier in the week, we are in the process of removing a wall between our den and the sun porch...we've enjoyed having the sun porch in years past but as our family has grown our needs have changed....we presently have 14 people in our immediate family....eight grandchildren....when everyone is here at the same time, we have very close communion....

......this is the den wall................

This is the other side.....on the sun porch side....it's really an insulated room.....already being packed....
The day finally arrives....wall today.......
Wall gone..............
Danny our talented builder and Andrew....his assistant......

New sheet rock ceiling.........

Looking from the porch part into the former den.....
Looking out into the former porch section....
Matching windows on each side........I can see dollars signs for window coverings.....the den has plantation shutters and I would really like to have them in this part.....maybe later....

The porch has a hand painted brick floor that I did years ago....but all the floor will have wood laminate with brick pavers at the back door entry and the fireplace hearth......

Choices, choices, choices...... the walls are painted 'Water Chestnut'...a Sherwin Williams paint....I've had this color on walls in two homes and I never tire of it.....

Hopefully, the flooring will be put down this week and I can straighten up and clean up.......

Removing that wall will really give you a wonderful room for entertaining. We have the laminate in our kitchen/eating area and it makes cleanup a breeze!

PS I recently changed my blog to private and sent you an invitation but it keeps bouncing. Not sure why unless I have the wrong email address...

Hello Dear Friend Betty.......

John and I were privileged to have an earlier preview of your pictures and as you know, we do so admire this enormous room you have created....... remembering how it was when we visited, we can well imagine what a massive room it is now. So lovely to see things that prompt such fond memories of our time with you too.

Hope all is well with you and yours. Fondest Love - Marion

Betty,

That room is going to be perfect for a Great Room. There will be lots of love and laughter between those walls. I'm looking forward to more photos as the work progresses.

Sorry I haven't been over to visit lately. First we lost Meeko, then we got the new puppy and I've been a very busy lady. Drop by for a visit when you can.

Blessings,
Mary
