We meet fellow blogger Sandy....Lunch at Paula Deen's Lady and Sons Restaurant....

It's now early Tuesday morning....we leave for Savannah and we are so excited that we are going to meet another blogger Sandy....Marion, so far, has met bloggers...Betty, Amy, Erin, Elisabeth, Beth and now another one.....Sandy.

Sandy and I have made arrangements by phone where to meet....after we check into our accomodations, we head to
the restaurant....Sweet Potatoes. As we enter the restaurant, we look around and see a lady heading toward us. We recognized Sandy immediately from her picture.

Finally after hurried introductions and the waitress coming by a couple of times we take time to order......
Edward, John and Mike
Marion making pictures as we all make memories.....all good things eventually come to an end and we had to bid our new friends farewell......it has been a dream come true to meet people that you feel you know but have never met face to face....

After a restful night, we are up early the next morning and after breakfast we head downtown to Lady and Sons Restaurant.....
Edward drops us out in front of the restaurant to sign
in for lunch. From previous experiene we know you must be there early for the 12:00 meal........

No, that isn't a picture of the four of us...it is a reflection from across the street............instructions are to stand on the opposite sidewalk to hear your party called.......so we might as well shopwhile we wait....so into the jewelry shop we go....Marion purchases a 'twirling' ring and I get blue crystal earrings.....
Edward and standing under the restaurant sign......

Marion and John........ A picture of the young lady and young man that come out with a dinner gong and she in a very loud voice hollers,"HOWDY...ARE YOU HUNGRY?"........Everyone shouts, "YES!"

Finally, we are seated....joining us, our niece, Linda, and her husband, Charlie, from Hilton Head......after introductions we head to the buffet......many choices of southern dishes to sample....

I asked our server if Paula and the boys were in the restaurant and was told they had been in another state finalizing a deal and had arrived home the night before. I had met Bobby and Jaimie on another visit.....

Edward, Linda, John.....Charlie, Me and Marion.......Below some of the trompe l'oeil on the extremely high walls....

The wrought iron door going into the gift shop....skillets and fancy scroll work......

Marion, Linda and I enjoy shopping in the gift shop.......You can only eat so much and believe you me....we did our fair share......after bidding farewell to Linda and Charlie we moved on.................

Down to the River Front........Just in case you've noticed that Marion and I have changed clothes, let me hasten to add we actually were down on the River Front and Forsyth Park on Tuesday afternoon.......it's just too much trouble to redo all the pictures.......
No, we didn't have time for the River Boat........
Hello John.............
Resting briefly.....we had an ice cream in one of these shops......

Which direction should we go? Right or left?

We wanted Marion and John to see Forsyth Park....the fountain is absolutely beautiful.....I know the ones in Europe probably dwarf these but in coastal Georgia this one is outstanding.......
Marion and John................
Edward and Betty......
We met a very interesting gentleman making palm roses and crosses.....he was very knowledgeable of the Bible and as he made his crafts, he shared his testimony.......He has a ministry as he meets people in the park....He is very personable and you automatically are drawn to what he's saying.....yes, Marion and I each have a cross and rose.....Marion, where is yours? Mine is hanging on the sunporch......that will be a Show and Tell one Friday over at Kelli's.......

There were so many more places we wanted to share...such as Tybee Island, Bonaventure Cemetery, the beautiful and historic churches, other parks, locations of movies, etc., but our time was so limited......

We left headed to Amelia Island, Florida........that's for next time.......

Looking forward to your post on Amelia Island. How is Edward doing? I'm keeping you both in my prayers.

How lovely to find your beautiful blog! And thank you for visiting Thatchwick cottage and sharing my recent visit to Paris (Italy is now up on the blog). Your meeting with fellow blogger Sandy seemed such fun! I have met so many wonderful people through my blog, I just wish I could visit them all and not just through cyberspace. But South Africa is soooo far away.
warm wishes Eleanor

Wonderful pictures of a wonderful day together....... I do love the one of the two of us in the ice cream parlour. Thank you for taking us to The Lady & Sons restaurant.... what an experience it was with all that delicious food too. I’m still enjoying the silver ring I bought that day, I’ve worn it ever since.

So good to finally meet Sandy (Flip Flop) and husband Mike. A truly amazing day. Marion
