Some of my 'bloomers'.......Life........

Isn't spring time a wonderful time? All the flower beds wake up, as well as the pesky weeds and grass....God's creation just puts on a show....the beautiful trees....and my favorite....the gorgeous blue skies with the fluffy clouds...how can we not say,"Lord, thank you and I love you!"This has become one of my favorite tree roses...Belinda's Dream.....very fragrant.

This isn't a bloomer but unique....a Staghorn Fern.
One of three planters on the back porch...
Another planter....
This is an area I'm working on...years ago we had concrete rectangles poured to use in a wet area....recently we intended to pour a walk way here and then I remembered the slabs so we used them instead...now we will pour river rock around the slabs...I re-arranged the wrought iron arbor and added the recently purchased large cast iron urns....a steal at $50.00 each. They are planted with Bacopa, Lobilia and Geraniums.
A new crop of lemons...
In the south bottle trees are not uncommon...
Cleome or Cat's Whiskers.....
An old, old bunny .....
One of the new Hibiscus......
Bird nest and cast iron bird....
A David Austin rose....I have others that have been absolutely gorgeous but are between blooms now....
One of Edward's day lilies....
Windchester Cathedral....I think....a David Austin rose....

``````````````````````````````````````````````````````
As you know, well you do if you've been a previous reader, our new den floor flooded not once but twice when we had almost 19 inches of rain in a short period of time...it has to be replaced. We recently honored our graduating twin granddaughters with a garden reception so the yard became our priority rather than the inside of the house. It will be the end of June before we get the floor done, Lord willing...
Life gets in the way of many of our plans and has to be dealt with immediately...other things get done when they get done.
What have you been doing this spring? I'd love to hear about your projects....
Dear Friend Betty......
I have so much enjoyed reading this post and lingering over your lovely pictures....... Filled with nostalgia and recalling memories of last year...... when on this very morning 19 May we greeted the day having spent our first night on American soil at Mindy & Chip’s home..... then, after that delicious family breakfast we set out to meet up with Imogene and Miss Mary Hayes for lunch..... followed my first experience of the many beautiful shops were were to visit during our stay with you..... I remember it so well.... it was High Cotton Simply Southern........ wonderful, wonderful memories...... John and I will indulge ourselves in the pleasure of reliving each of those precious days we spent with you and Edward in the forthcoming days.
It has been such a delight to see your garden again Betty..... the changes you have made as well as sights that are so familiar to me..... I see the new path you have laid and note that the flower pot man is still there. I admire the cast iron urns each side of the flower arbour you have told me about.... all is so lovely.
Thank you for your newsy e-mail received earlier....... (another SiG). I’ll be in touch very soon. Bestest Love - Marion
Your garden is so beautiful! How sweet that you are going to have a graduation party for them there it will be so nice! I love the urns :) I've never seen Cleome but I am in love with it! It totally looks like cat's whiskers LOL. I was not aware that a bottle tree was a southern custom, what is it exactly? Or what's it's purpose? Just decoration? :) Beautiful backyard!
All the best,
Allison
Your garden is beautiful! I love the roses especially that Winchester Cathedral! I have one David Austen rose and have always wanted more.
That looks like quite a project you have going on with the concrete squares! Love the planters on the side of the arbor!
What a beautiful garden! Your roses are so beautiful. I walk out every morning of spring and thank God for the beauty he gives us:>) Spring makes me so happy! We are working on adding raised bed gardens and weeding the old beds. I have perennials to move and flowers to buy. Our gardens are just beginning here in Michigan!
Hi Betty! Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your floors! That's really too bad.
Your garden and plants are just beautiful. I have little teeny tiny lemons just like yours on my lemon tree!
Take care and be a sweetie,
Oh Betty, your pictures and projects are just wonderful. Your flowers and those urns are beautiful. I had to laugh at the "bottle tree." I have a Bottlebrush tree, but I will have to go to the nursery and see if I can find this new specimen! My poor Staghorn looks pretty pathetic compared to yours. Glad to hear that your inside renovations are almost finished. Have a wonderful weekend dear heart.
Hi Betty,
I have had the most pleasant visit walking around in your garden, your flowers are so beautiful, I love David Austin roses, and the way you have arranged everything, certainly shows a lot of work. I am hoping that your flooring will be fixed soon, and you can really get to enjoy your new room, with all the hard work that you all did.
I agree it would be great if we all could shed a lot of old stuff that weighs us down. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and as always for leaving me such sweet words of encouragement. I am glad to see you back blogging again
Blessings,
Sue.
