Spring Forsythia............

I know we will have more cold weather, perhaps even freezing weather, but after a day like today with warm temperatures, beautiful sunshine, I just have to have some dashes of spring color.

The basket on the front door holds Forsythia, fern and Ivy and says 'Welcome, please come in."
A big red bird is in the nest on the column.

A pitcher of Forsythia graces a chest in the music-garden-reading room. This room has containers of seed, gardening books and catalogs, magazines, keyboard(piano-organ), a comfortable toile chair, a rockingchair and a faux brick floor. I've written the instructions for painting the floor in a later posting.
I like bunnies inside and out and I have all kinds and sizes. I just don't think you can have too many!

Betty, your basket on your front door is so elegant and very welcoming! The yellow is perfect for spring. Your garden-music room sounds so cozy and your table arrangement is lovely. I agree, you can never have two many bunnies!

Betty,
Your spring decor is so welcoming. I also love bunnies and have quite the collection which I'll share in a future post!
Thanks for your prayers for my Grandpa. I truly appreciate them.

Oh my- the forsythia is stunning Betty. Sadly l had to dig mine out of the front garden last year to make way for the driveway we are building. :( l was quite sad about that at the time- still am.
I love the basket on your door- so charming.
As for the bunny rabbits- well, l used to love collecting them myself in America. We had pet rabbits for the children so they hold a special place in my heart too.

I love the sound of your music-garden-reading room. I could enjoy myself in there!

Is it a common thing to decorate doors etc for the changing of seasons? I remember when I was on a pw email list, some of the ladies would talk about decorations for seasons etc, too. It's not something we do in Australia - well not in my "circle" of friends and family. :) It sounds quite interesting though.

My dad loved forsythia. My mom would always keep a big vase of it indoors when it was in bloom. Pleasant memories......
Your door looks very pretty & welcoming!!

That's pretty! I do love that room and the beautiful white beadboard paneling and the sweet little octagonal window. You should also share a picture of the toile chair you recovered that sits in that room! I think I need to come out there and point out all the stuff you need to take pictures of to share on your blog. We'd be busy for days! LOL
I have always admired how you add the little touches that make such a difference in a room. It's a gift!
Love ya,
Amy
