Herein lies the tale of the stove.............
Several months ago, like a year ago, early one morning my husband heard a noise in the kitchen. Entering, he discovered the beeping coming from the stove.....like it beeps when the oven temperature has reached its degree of hotness. Turning knobs to no avail to shut it off, finally, he turned the stove off at the fusebox.
We called a repairman who came that afternoon. After checking, he said it was a small sensor and he would order and replace it in the next couple of days.....small detail.....
He called back the next day and gave us the bad news that the sensor was no longer in stock. Now the stove was not many years old and given the fact that we had lived away almost seven years it certainly had not been over used.....the only option would be to purchase a new stove to replace one the that worked fine except for the small sensor. As long as the oven was on, even the lowest setting, it didn't beep. When it was turned on at the fuse box.... .next turn oven to lowest setting as quickly as possible........
We priced stoves, looking for the particular drop in style needed. I simply could not see buying a new stove at about $1,000.00 when everything worked perfectly fine except the irritating beeper.
We decided to keep it shut off at the fuse box, turning it on only when the stove was being used. Now remember this has gone on for a year. Inconvenient yes, but frugal foremost.
Two days ago, the oven was on as I was making spaghetti sauce for a cancer Relay for Life fund raiser. Not thinking, I turned the oven off. After a few minutes, I realized the oven wasn't beeping..... IT HASN'T BEEPED SINCE! EVEN WITHOUT THE OVEN BEING ON! Do stoves heal themselves? I am ecstatic that we didn't go out and buy a new stove............Thank you Lord for a none beeping stove...........

Betty, that is amazing! Maybe it just had a little glitch in the system that sorta straightened itself out over time. One thing I know for sure is that they don't make appliances or anything else like they use to. They certainly do make them much more expensive though!! :O)
Have a great day!
Blessings,
Hope
Wow! that was sure a big blessing. Stoves healing themselves about as likly as a person healing themselves.lol I am glad you did not have to buy a new one.
I don't think that I told you, I sure like your new picture. It is very pretty. Have a great day. connie from Texas
That's really strange but it's nice that it doesn't beep any more.
Hi Betty, not been over for a while but when I read this I had to comment! My stove or oven as we say is due to be replaced. It was a wedding present from my mum, so it does have sentimental value. However it has finally expired....not gracefully either! We will have to see what we replace it with, but it will have to have everything about it which remind me of mum!
Have a good day.
Lots of love,
Denise

Things often work in mysterious ways. Sounds like you were saved from spending a lot of money. The other thing is you might have been able to unplug the beeper where it connects to the rest of the wiring. in the stove.
I have had trouble with my clock going completely dead on my stove. When it is unplugged and then plugged in again, I guess it kind of resets itself. Perhaps that is what yours did, but I am surprised the repair man didn't know that.
Betty,
I'm so glad you didn't buy a new stove. It sounds like there was a little glitch somewhere. If it starts again, I would call a different repair man. All these modern conveniences are great when they're working well. When they're not, it's very inconvenient.
Love your kitchen decor. I've been thinking of doing mine in red and white and yours looks so cozy.
Take care. Hope you are having some nice spring weather.
Blessings,
Mary
Hi Betty, I love the the red and white wallpaper and I see you like roosters too...cute, cute, cute. I'm so happy the beeping stopped...that's a good thing. Linda

Hi Betty!! I was just over at Mary's blog and saw that you were the winner of her pay it forward 'book' contest! Congrats go out to you!!
And this is one terrific story about your stove. Will wonders never cease! I've heard that bodies tend to heal themselves [tho I highly disagree with that in some cases] ---but stoves? I see it as something that is in the realm of things that make you go "Hmmmmmmmmm".
Happy Thursday.
So glad you have a working/non-working beeper!
Your kitchen is adorable. I'm not a bit surprised because every part of your house we have had a glimpse of it amazing. L love the red and white!
