Thank you...Seashore...Wesley...Prize...Show and Tell Friday...

Today is Friday and it's Show and Tell time over at Kelli's........This picture of zinnias in a bowl belonged to my grandmother........When I came into possession of it I had it re-framed and re-matted........It means a great deal to me because it belonged to her........I use many hanging plates, platters, bowls in my decor.......thank you for coming by.................

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Thank you for all the kind comments on our 47th wedding anniversary......I read each one and you can never know how much your good wishes mean....and how encouraging to go for another 47.......rather than visit you all today and thank you, please accept this as my thanks for this time............
We went to the seashore for a mini holiday this week...the same one we went to on our honeymoon and stayed across the street from where we stayed 47 years ago......we walked on the beach very early in the morning.......how can one look out over the ocean and not believe in a high power...........
We ate at our favorite restaurants and didn't think about the calories.....I'm thinking about them now that we're home.......the camera batteries died early on so just a couple of restaurant pictures...............this one is very reminiscent of Key West....especially the style and landscaping of the outside...wrap around porch.........
The bridge reminds me of ship's sails................................................
Edward on our walk...............
Someone just walked out of their shoes and kept going....in which direction are your footprints going...................
We found some very unusual shells.........................................
Our nine year old grandson, Wesley, has been in the hospital this week but is coming home this afternoon........acute sinus infection......
I am the happy winner of Barbara's 100th posting give away...I know you would enjoy visiting with her at Ramblings From An English Garden. I am anxiously awaiting the beautiful handmade cards........I'll share pictures.........
Good Morning Betty....
I enjoyed your ‘Show and Tell’ picture this week. You already know of my fondness for ‘blue and white’. How well your plates, vases and lamp complement the blue mount of grandmother’s picture, the arrangement is just perfect.
So pleased that you and Edward managed a mini-break to celebrate your anniversary. The pictures of you both the seaside are lovely. I love deserted beaches like that and when I’m on the beach shell gathering is a favourite pastime of mine too. I bring home my shells and place them around my potted plants in the garden, they look so pretty as well as showing the plant off nicely.
I love the yellow crocs, where they really abandoned, or are they yours? I’m a big fan of crocs, they are bliss to wear.
Good news about Wesley coming home in time for the writer’s conference trip. I’ll be in touch again later. Marion
I too have a picture that belonged to my Grandmother and yes it does hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful wall. I love blue and white plates and was thinking of doing something like blue and white in my kitchen.
Nice the way you've built the display of your blue china around the picture.
How special to stay across the street from where you had your honeymoon.
I especially love the blue dishes.
I didn't understand if you actually went to Key West? I lived down there for a few months in high school and have always wanted to go back.
I can well imagine how much that picture means to you...it looks beautiful the way you have it displayed with all the blue and white dishes around it. My mom would love it too, she's always decorated her homes in blues:-) Sounds like you had a wonderful time away to celebrate your anniversary...loved all the pictures:-) Have a wonderful weekend my friend! xox
Betty, yep I missed your anniversary! But I am saying my congrats now! We also went to the beach on our honeymoon, but since we got married on Christmas Eve, it was not crowded at all. :) Jerrell was a school teacher and he had two weeks off for Christmas and I was working and living outta town, so we justified getting married then.
I love the picture that was your grandmothers and all the pretties all around it. You have lovely taste and a beautiful home.
Have a blessed evening my friend!
Dear Betty.
Firslty, although late, l want to send hearty congratulations to you and Edward for 47years together- not everyone can say that they have been together for so long. Beautiful photo of you both on your wedding day and now ;) The family group photos are keepers as are the grandchildren in the flower pot- very sweet!!
l have missed checking in here with you and have been away too long. Thank you for having stopped by with your kind comments when l was away- it meant so much.
l hope you have been keeping well and happy.
bests and hugs xx
ps- Your display of Grandma's picture and bowl are lovely. The whole arrangement with the plates works well as a feature- really nice.
Betty, I just love that picture from your grandmother & all the blue/white pieces you have hanging on the wall. Blue & white is SO classic! And how fun to have that beach get-away. The beach is so relaxing. I always love looking for shells too & can't resist the urge to see if there are any out there. We didn't have any shells on our beach when we were on vacation, but I've been on others that had a lot.
Just love that deserted beach. I inherited a lot of blue/white china ware b ut it did not suit my home so fortunately I had a dear friend who collected it so gave it away. Your display looks good.
So glad your ocean getaway was relaxing and fun. The pictures are beautiful.
Your "show and tell" picure is beautiful and must be highly treasured. I love your blueware too. I enjoyed the stroll along the beach. Those "croc" shoes are just coming into fashion over here. They are supposed to be very comfortable but they come in such bright colours! Maybe when they do them in black or dark blue I'll give them a try.
Betty, what a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary. It looks like you had a wonderful time.
Your blues look so pretty together. A wonderful vignette for your grandmother's picture.
My in-laws retired to a very small town in Georgia called Ivey. It is below Milledgeville. They are not in the best of health, but don't want to move yet. We try to visit as often as we can and get some work done around the house for them, but the long distance for us is challenging. I always leave feeling like it wasn't enough.
Warmly,
Lallee
